The Italian painter and sculptor was and one of the leading figures of the Futurist movement. Inspired by the energy of modern life, machines and technology, Boccioni’s art sought to break with traditional artistic conventions, depicting not only physical objects but also the experience and the movement of objects and human figures within space. Despite his short life, his approach to the dynamism of form and the deconstruction of solid mass guided artists long after his death.
