Kazimir Malevich

Malevich developed the Suprematist art movement in the early 20th century. In his 1915 manifesto, he aimed to break from representational art, emphasizing pure abstraction with geometric shapes such as squares and circles. Suprematism suggests the supremacy of pure elements, color and form, and he saw it as a way to access a higher realm of artistic expression and to connect with the spiritual through abstraction. His movement was a shift in the trajectory of modern art.
